If you don’t know how to code, the instructions below are for you.
There’s no complex manual or engineering stuff here. This is about one thing: proving to yourself that you can program a PLC with plain English in the next 5 minutes.
Assuming you have one of these: JasperX - Starter Pack
Let’s get it done.
Step 1: Power Up
- Plug (or wire) the main power supply into a 240V outlet.
- You should see lights on the Power Supply, the ControlMate mini PC, and the Siemens LOGO! PLC.
Step 2: Get Connected (Choose ONE path)
This is how your laptop talks to the JasperNode PC. You only need to do one of these.
Path A: The Easy Way (Use Your Office/Home Router)
(This is the recommended first step)
- Plug a standard Ethernet cable (like the one for your internet) from a spare port on your router into the “WAN” port on the ControlMate mini PC.
- Make sure your laptop is connected to that same router network (e.g., your office WiFi).
- Open your web browser (Chrome or Edge) and type this in the address bar:
http://cm24.local(Or whatever serial number is on the sticker of your ControlMate)
Path B: The “In the Field” Way (Use Your Phone)
(Use this if you don’t have a router handy)
- On your phone, go to your “Personal Hotspot” settings.
- Change the settings to exactly this (this is critical):
- Network Name:
JasperWiFi - Password:
JasperX!
- Network Name:
- Turn your phone’s hotspot ON.
- On your laptop, connect to the new
JasperWiFinetwork. - Open your web browser (Chrome or Edge) and type this in the address bar:
http://cm24.local(Or whatever serial number is on the sticker of your ControlMate)
Step 3: The “Magic Moment” (Tell the PLC What to Do)
If you see the JasperNode website, you’re in. This is the moment of truth.
-
Click the AI Agent and in the chat box at the bottom, type this command and hit Enter:
“Toggle the first relay on the LOGO! of this JasperPack every 5 seconds”
-
The AI will think for a second and generate the connectors, tags and the code for you.
-
Follow the AI Agent instructions.
Now, look at the actual Siemens LOGO! PLC on your desk. The little light for the first output (Q1) will turn on.
You just programmed a PLC without writing a single line of code.
